Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information this website uses when you read the Quran and Hadith, save bookmarks, search for books or authors, complete a security check, or sign in. It describes the website's current features; if those features change, this policy may be updated.

Information used by the website

• Account information. If you sign in, Firebase Authentication processes the details required by your chosen sign-in method, such as your email address and account identifier. Google or Apple also processes information under its own privacy policy when you choose that provider.
• Bookmarks. Saved Quran and Hadith bookmark records use the item type, book or surah identifier, item number, and save time. They are kept in your browser and, when you sign in and sync, sent to the QASRA sync service and stored in Cloudflare D1 so they can be available to your account on another device.
• Browser storage. The website stores necessary settings such as your theme, reading selections, bookmarks, sign-in state, and cookie-choice record in browser storage. These settings help the site work and remember your choices.
• Book and author searches. When you submit a search, the website sends your search terms to the QASRA catalog API, which queries MongoDB Atlas for matching public book and author records. Opening a book or author page also requests the relevant catalog record. You do not need to sign in to use catalog search.
• Human verification. Cloudflare Turnstile is used to check that a visitor is human before access to protected Hadith content. Your browser communicates with Cloudflare for this check and sends the resulting verification token to the QASRA Worker. A temporary verification session is stored in your browser's session storage so the check does not need to be repeated for every request while that session remains valid.
• Technical request data. The sync service uses the connecting IP address for request-rate limiting and abuse prevention. Your browser also sends ordinary network information when it requests website content.

How information is used

Information is used to provide sign-in, bookmark syncing, saved reading preferences, security controls, and the Quran and Hadith content you request. The website does not currently use advertising or analytics trackers.

Service providers

Authentication is provided by Firebase. Bookmark syncing is provided by QASRA's Cloudflare Worker and D1 database. Book and author catalog queries use MongoDB Atlas through the QASRA catalog API. Human verification uses Cloudflare Turnstile and the QASRA Worker. These services process data to provide the features described above and are subject to their own platform terms and privacy practices.

Sharing and retention

The website does not sell personal information. Account and synced bookmark data remain with the service providers while needed to provide the account and sync features. Browser data remains until you clear it or the website removes it. This website does not currently state a fixed retention period.

Your choices

The Cookie details panel explains the browser storage used by sign-in, security, bookmarks, and reader settings. This website does not currently use optional analytics or advertising cookies, so there are no optional tracking categories to enable or disable. You can reopen the details from the footer. You can also use the site without signing in; bookmarks saved while signed out remain in that browser and do not sync across devices. You can remove bookmarks in the website or clear browser storage in your browser settings. Children and policy updates

This website is a reading and research resource and is not designed to collect information from children. We may update this policy when the website's data practices change; the effective date above will be revised when that happens.
